The United Nations fears that Iraqi judges will not be fair in ISIS members trials for the crimes committed by them in Iraq.

A document issued by “United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq” Revealed the fear of international organization From “mistakes” or “negligence” for the Iraqi judiciary in ISIS fighters trails.

The document also showed that the United Nations’ concern about the competence of the judicial experts in Iraq and in Kurdistan region in the trial file, according to the American news channel “Al Hurra”.

But at the same time, UN officials are concerned about the randomness of these trials, as to whether they will be based on legal evidence showing war crimes committed by “ISIS”.

The report was based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 2379 on holding the terrorist organization ISIS accountable for crimes committed in Iraq, including those may upgrade to war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.

This decision requires the creation of a joint committee between Iraqi judges and legal experts from the United Nations, working to collect evidence and data showing war crimes committed by “ISIS” fighters, while European countries have been keen to enact special legislation, more severe to trail those fighters who still in Iraqi and Kurdish prisons.

The French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian had announced earlier his desire to visit Iraq, to ​​discuss the judicial framework that allows the prosecution of “ISIS” detainees held by the “Syrian Democratic Forces” in Syria and also in Iraq.

European countries sought to quickly reach a plan to transfer thousands of ISIS foreign fighters from Syrian and Iraqi camps, after Turkey launched a military operation in Syria, this led to the flight of many fighters and their return to their country
